I'm Back!
Hey there, my incredible readers (shoutout to those who've stuck around during my hiatus)! Life has thrown its fair share of curveballs since our last chat, and I can't wait to spill the tea on all of it. But first, let's dive into the grand adventure that is 2024!
This new year holds different meanings for each of us. For some, it's a blank canvas, while for others, it's a chance to reflect, and still for others it’s just another day. Personally, it's a time to refocus and recommit to my goals. I'm laying it all out here to keep myself in check:
Keep this blog on fire regularly.
Dive into healthy eating and lock down a killer workout routine.
Devour 12 books in a year (because finishing what I start is my new superpower).
Craft and stick to a morning routine (a game-changer, trust me).
Look at life through 'heaven's eyes'.
These goals are only a guide, a roadmap to the year ahead. They are not set in stone, they are not binding, but they are a guiding light to follow. Now, let's talk about that last one. I'm not here to preach from a pulpit—I'm more of a spiritual wanderer. I believe that our energy and our thoughts have the ability to change the vibrations of our lives and that the universe will meet us halfway. This year's been a rollercoaster, and sometimes it's been hard to trust that the universe has my back. Things that have happened this year, things that have been said to me, have rattled my confidence, made me question my intellect, and have cut my very soul- I am not the person I once was. I am still learning how to approach this new version of me. I am re-learning how I feel about authority figures, I am re-learning how to protect my energy when faced with toxicity, and above all else, I am re-learning how to simply move from day to day with a cloud hanging over my head. "Hope dies last" is a phrase I've heard a lot, and let me tell you, it's not my jam. I live on hope. It's my lifeline, propelling me forward with the promise of better days, new adventures, and maybe even true love.
Now, about goal number five—looking at life through "heaven's eyes." This gem comes from one of my all-time favorite movies, "The Prince of Egypt." Jethro, a wise character, belts out a truth bomb in the song "Through Heaven's Eyes." It's about seeing your worth beyond the limited vision of mere mortals. My favorite line in the song is, “A single thread in a tapestry, though its color brightly shines, can never see its purpose in the pattern of the grand design” Absolute poetry! You're a thread in the tapestry of existence, a vital part of the grand design. You matter. Your life has purpose. Even when life throws its worst at you, remember, you're an essential thread in this beautiful tapestry.
When the road gets tough (and trust me, it will), shift your perspective. Don't let the forest of challenges make you lose sight of the light. I get it; life can be overwhelming. But in those moments, try looking at your life from a higher perspective. You're not just surviving; you're part of an extraordinary story. And remember, tough times are temporary; "this too shall pass."
Whew, that got deep, right? But it's a message that's been a North Star for me lately. Now, what's been cooking in my life? Buckle up: new apartment in Jersey City, a fresh job, a cute bunny named Peanut, sporadic weightlifting sessions, and soul-stirring books. Life's a mix of sweet and sour, but each twist and turn is a chance to learn and grow.
What's on the horizon, you ask? I've got exciting stuff lined up for you in the coming weeks. This blog, my baby, is evolving. It's not just about going solo anymore; it's becoming a haven for growth and thriving. Stick around for the journey—I've got big plans, and I want you right there with me.
To the champions who've made it this far, a massive thank you. And if you've dropped off you’re dead to me... just kidding! (Or am I?) This might be a weighty read for a new year, but pondering these things early on sets the tone for a transformative year. I wish you nothing but radiance, love, and laughter. Stay healthy, stay true, and be authentically you.
In the immortal words of my podcast queen, Rachel Hollis, "I love you, and I'm rooting for you."
